Vir 40 jaar lank swerf die Israeliete in die woestyn rond – hulle droom van die beloofde land is oënskynlik daarmee heen. Toe kom die Here en gee aan Josua die opdrag om oor die Jordaan te trek – na die land toe wat Ek aan hulle, die Israeliete, gee (1:2). Hoekom slaag Josua?

Dit is verbasend dat baie Christene glo dat Christus sy volgelinge teen swaarkry sal beskerm.
